Running long distance is a great chance to reflect and think it; the Zen like peace that can be achieved is a good feeling.
But, as those miles creep up, especially in training you need support. Logistically apart from anything else. It also helps with motivation.
I’ve done no long runs for two months so it’s fair to say I’m off my target but I’ve found a willing running buddy who has similar aims to myself. A few half marathons, the odd off road marathon and one or two ultras this year.
Having a buddy makes running fun and can give you that extra kick when you need it. This is Nikki, she’s fitter than me and younger so I don’t mind. It’s working so far.
